Training courses

The Refugees into Business Project has been piloting 3 training courses; for Refugee Community Organisations (RCOs), mainstream Business Advisers and Refugee Entrepreneurs. These courses have been delivered in Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester and Newcastle. The feedback from these events has been excellent. The mainstream Business Advisor course is in the process of being accredited.

Refugee community organisations (RCOs)

The objective of this customised course for RCOs advisors entitled ‘Business Basics for Refugee Advisors’ is to enhance the awareness and skills of RCO advisors who will be providing basic business start-up support to entrepreneurs within their community.

Business advisors

The objective of this course is to inform and raise awareness among Business Advisors of the additional needs refugees have and how and where to get support for the refuges to overcome these barriers to progressing their business idea.

Refugee entrepreneurs

The purpose of this customised course is to assist would-be refugee entrepreneurs to better understand the UK business environment and to provide practical help with essential skills. Where possible the project will endeavour to provide women only training courses. Currently these trainings are provided in Birmingham, Coventry and Manchester by our partners in these areas.
